Co-operative project 2 – Phenotyping of behaviour

Phenotyping of behaviour - the “Animal Welfare” – depiction at livestock

CP coordinator: Prof. Birger Puppe, University Rostock / FBN Dummerstorf

Aims:

  • Analyses of individual behaviour pattern of cattle and pig to serve as a basis for new findings for physiological and genetic regulation of behaviour,
  • Development of individual behavioural parameters used as indicators for environmental credentialing, humane
    treatment of animals and welfare,
  • Development of appropriate behavioural parameters to be used in breeding programmes,
  • Allocation of behavioural data for further system biological researches,
  • Development of conceptions and modells to “Animal Welfare”.
